BEER PAIRING
Pair with an Irish Red Ale, such as George Killian’s® Irish Red™.
The caramel- and toffee-like sweetness in George Killian’s Irish Red contrasts the saltiness of the corned beef and the sharp bite of the sauerkraut.
Bite-sized and based on a classic Irish sandwich, this quick-to-make appetizer is big on flavor and delicious with Irish Red Ale.
INGREDIENTS
1 Loaf Rye Bread, sliced
2 tablespoon Thousand Island Dressing
¼ lb Baby Swiss, thinly sliced
1/3 lb Corned Beef, thinly sliced
1 cup Sauerkraut, strained
1 teaspoon Caraway Seeds
PREPARATION
STEP 1
Place 12 rye bread slices on a baking sheet and broil for about 3 minutes, or until lightly toasted. Flip bread over to toast the other side.
STEP 2
Spread dressing evenly on top of toasts and cover with corned beef, sauerkraut and cheese. Broil for 3 to 5 minutes until the cheese is melted
STEP 3
Sprinkle caraway seeds atop the melted cheese. Plate and serve.
