INGREDIENTS
Biscuits
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
1 cup buttermilk
Salted Honey Butter
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons honey
½ teaspoon sea salt
PREPARATION
STEP 1
Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
STEP 2
In a food processor or a large bowl with a pastry cutter, blend flour, baking powder, sugar and salt together. Add butter and pulse or work the butter in with the pastry cutter until the mixture resembles a coarse meal. Add buttermilk and pulse or blend until the batter comes together and becomes a sticky dough.
STEP 3
Scoop ¼ cup mounds of the dough, spaced 2 inches apart, on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the biscuits are golden. Transfer to a cooling rack.
STEP 4
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter, honey and salt. Once melted, remove from heat and brush the biscuits with the honey butter. Serve.
Notes: Biscuits can be made a day in advance without glazing. When ready to serve, warm the biscuits in a 350°F oven until warm, then glaze with the honey butter.
