
Turkey Lettuce Wraps

This Asian-inspired recipe contains hoisin sauce, red wine vinegar and ginger. Serve with a side of soy sauce, if you like.
INGREDIENTS
¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
1 tablespoon ginger, peeled and grated
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 pound ground turkey
1 yellow onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 8-ounce can water chestnuts, chopped
3 green onions, sliced thin
1 head butter or Boston Bibb lettuce
PREPARATION
STEP 1
In a bowl, whisk to combine soy and hoisin sauce, vinegar, ginger, and cornstarch; set aside.
STEP 2
Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add turkey, yellow onions, and garlic and sauté until turkey is cooked and onions are softened, about 5 minutes. Add sauce and water chestnuts, stir, and sauté until sauce thickens slightly, about 2 minutes.
Transfer to a serving bowl and top with green onions. Serve alongside lettuce for wrapping and additional soy sauce for dipping, if desired.
